This program offers a chiaroscuro journey centered on the figure of Franz Schubert, whose music embodies a rare delicacy, inward lyricism, and deep expressiveness. Each note seems to arise from an intimate gesture, suspended between light and shadow, revealing a world of subtle emotions and infinite nuances.
Like a gradual illumination, the works of Claude Debussy, Philippe Gaubert, and Cécile Chaminade explore soundscapes filled with subtlety and refinement. Through singing lines and delicate textures, they extend in their own way the legacy of Schubertian lyricism, where melody appears to emerge naturally, carried by the breath of the moment.
With Alexandre Borodine, the music opens into a more grounded and dance-like expressivity, where gravity and lightness blend elegantly, maintaining the thread that unites all these works around a shared ideal: a music of nuance, breath, and poetry.
This journey culminates in the Sonata “Arpeggione” in A minor, D.821, where Schubert unfolds the full richness of his language: a luminous Romanticism marked by apparent simplicity, emotional depth, and infinite tenderness. In this work, every arpeggio, every breath, and every silence seems to tell the story of an inner world made universal through music.
